Why should someone join the HIMSS-SIIM Enterprise Imaging Community? 

The HIMSS-SIIM Community is a space where digital transformation is possible. We highlight how data can be actionable and relevant to everyday medicine. For example, imaging service lines can affect over 70% of patient visits on any given day. Working together, we can make the transition of knowledge more fluid and impactful for patients.

What advice would you have for those entering the field of enterprise imaging?

Never stop learning. Medicine and healthcare are constantly evolving professions. It is incumbent on us to innovate and keep up with the pace of discovery to ensure that we serve our patients and clinicians better. 

What does the community help members (and other audiences) do? 

Our community is a forum where persistent problems can get visibility and gather support for a resolution. Many of our workgroups have coalesced around the common sentiment, "Why is this still a problem, and how can we fix it?" Here, we take ownership of that fix. There are no reservations around pooling our knowledge and experiences to resolve these issues. The open willingness of community members to selflessly share for the betterment of patients is our greatest strength.
